A word from Hava…

Over the past couple of years, I've interacted with Ginger in a few different ways: as a marketing expert and educator, through her masterclasses, as my co-host for a peer group webinar, and just as someone I've gone to for advice.

Ginger is approachable and knowledgeable. Because she is an artist and successful content creator herself, she has perspective that other marketing experts may not. She understands how artists think and the challenges that often keep us stuck, which makes her advice feel relevant and practical rather than generic. She is generous in sharing what she has learned, and her advice is thoughtful, honest, and grounded in experience.

I trust her advice because I know she's giving me an honest opinion, not just telling me what I want to hear. She will point out when something isn't a good idea. A recent example was when I was offered a paid collaboration with a drawing app. I was focused on whether it might dilute my brand. Ginger looked beyond that question and pointed out some of the practical concerns, including the amount of work involved for relatively little compensation. She helped me evaluate the opportunity from multiple angles, and I ultimately decided to decline it. That ability to reframe problems and see the broader strategy is one of her greatest strengths.

Her masterclasses and one-on-one consultations genuinely changed the way I think about marketing. She introduced some simple but game-changing ideas about marketing such as figuring out what parts only I can do, what parts I can buy tools to help, and what parts might be best to outsource. She also got me to think about what type of artist I want to be, helped me nail down my brand by breaking it into its components and identifying its strengths and weaknesses.

Perhaps the most important thing she helped me understand is that I am a brand, evaluate what kind of brand I want to be, and aligning all my messaging in the same voice: my website, artwork, social media, messaging, presentation, and consistency.

The brand audit she did for me was incredibly valuable because it gave me an objective perspective. She pointed out strengths that I wasn't recognizing myself. She was the one who encouraged me to lean into the "published in Vogue" part of my story because she recognized it as an important indicator of professional success, while I relegated it to the margins.

She also made practical suggestions that had a real impact. She helped me think differently about my pricing, encouraged me to present my hand-painted purses as luxury pieces rather than simply painted bags, and helped me refine my artist statement so it reflected not only what inspires me, but also positioned me as an established professional artist.

During a period of burnout and self-doubt, Ginger offered valuable guidance that went beyond business strategy. She helped me identify some of the negative beliefs that were keeping me stuck and gave me practical ways to think about them differently.

When I was launching my podcast, she coached me through the process, participated in practice interviews, recommended equipment, and made me feel like I wasn't figuring everything out on my own.

As my co-host for Breakfast Club, she was incredibly supportive and made me feel like it was a true partnership. As the host, I occasionally had to deal with awkward situations or difficult personalities. She would often message me afterward to let me know I'd handled something well, and when appropriate she would step in with exactly the right amount of authority and professionalism.

Even after she stopped co-hosting, she remained one of the first people I'd go to for advice about difficult situations, bouncing ideas around, evaluating opportunities, and getting feedback on my own marketing campaigns—notably helping me make my Holiday Gift Guide stronger with practical advice.

Overall, what stands out most is Ginger's combination of strategic thinking and practical advice. She doesn't just offer marketing tips; she helps people step back, look at the bigger picture, and make decisions that align with who they are and where they want to go. She has had a meaningful impact on how I think about my business, my brand, and myself as a professional artist.
